Our Gents section consists of some 550 members of varying handicaps ranging from +2 to 28 and offers a full programme of competitions throughout the Season, April -- October.

New and existing members alike are welcomed and encouraged to take part in all competitions and meet new and old friends in the spirit of the game. The majority of competitions are held on Saturdays with the inclusion of Wednesday Medals from April – September, with the option of playing a medal round every Wednesday from June to August to satisfy the needs of all Members. Tee times for medal competitions can be booked one week in advance.
 
There are three Handicap Sections within the Club; 0-9, 10-16 and 17+ with all medal competitions offering prizes for each section to encourage the participation of golfers of all abilities.

We have four “major” competitions through the year where a Tee time can be booked two weeks in advance within groups to be drawn in the week prior to the competition. The major competitions are the Spring, Summer and Autumn Meetings and the JJ Wilson Trophy. We welcome guests to play in the Open Greensomes, Open Mixed Greensomes and the Silloth.

The Gents team competes in both the Midlothian Winter League and Edinburgh Summer League with matches played home and away. The top two in each Edinburgh Summer League section progress to the knockout stages.
 
Glencorse offers a variety of social events across the year with the Annual Captains Dinner traditionally being the first event on the Calendar, being held on the third Friday in March. It is also the intention to add a Sportsmans Brunch again this year in October (watch this space for further details). All events are published throughout the Clubhouse 3 months in advance.
